Budget Stationary Bike | Owner Review

After a deep dive into researching affordable stationary bikes, we wanted to keep the cost of purchasing low but needed to ensure the quality of the bike would be long-lasting and simple to maintain.

We eventually landed on the Cyclace Exercise Bike. The Cyclace bike seemed to have a great number of positive buyer reviews and the price was within our budget.

We happily bought the bike and easily assembled it upon arrival. All parts were present and tools to do the job were included, as well as a spare felt pad and some bolts.

The factory seat is ok which is well padded, wide and somewhat comfortable for me, and the 4-way seat post is adjustable for people with an inseam of 28-39” to use. However, my spouse who is slightly shorter than 5’1”, could not ride comfortably. As a solution, we bought a lower profile, narrower, gel seat which solved the problem.

She can now ride the bike comfortably with her 26” inseam! I like that there is a holder built into the handlebars for mobile devices, which is Perfect for my iPad.

After riding it for over a year, the only problem with the bike was after about a couple of weeks of riding, the felt friction pad started to howl when tension is turned up. The owner's manual recommends using a silicone lubricant on the pad. I have done this and it helped reduce the higher resistance noise problem to an occasional squeak. The next problem, which I presume had to do with using the lubricant, the felt pad fell off the tension plate it was attached to. The quick solution to this was to clean off any oil from the metal mounting plate above the flywheel, then replace the double-sided adhesive tape with a more heavy-duty double-sided tape. I will keep the tape handy for when the factory felt pad needs to be replaced, I will not use the factory tape to apply the spare replacement pad.
